DAY 2 - SLO

Today was a fun day. We began our day with a tour of a school that teaches students how to speak, read and learn in both Spanish and English. Each week, the students alternate their lessons beginning in English and then the next week in Spanish. Today, the Kindergarten class had a Mother's day tea party (just like you Regan!) Then we toured a class of fourth graders where they were learning how to add in Spanish.

After the tour, our class went back to our room and practiced and performed our speeches. Following our speeches, we went to the "Tar Hill" Ranch. This rach had lots of history, including a landing craft (Top Right picture) and restored jeeps, cars, and buildings. There was also old guns and bombs on displayed (Bottom Picture).

After looking at all of the history, we had a big BBQ and ate strawberries and cookies after dinner.

MADE IT TO SLO

Howdy Guys! Well, I made it to San Luis Obispo for Agricultural Leadership. So far, so good. Today, our class was reunited for the first time since our National Trip. Overall, the experience has been really good. We began with a quick video about the different generations. Next we practiced our speeches. Overall, I was ok. However, I have to give the same speech tomorrow with a couple of changes.

Tomorrow, we are planning more speeches and then we will visit a school where they teach communication classes. In the evening, we will be attending a ranch where we will have BBQ.

FINAL DAY IN CHICAGO

Today, we visited the trade show. Lot's of fun and exciting things to see. There are five shows total here in Chicago. These include FMI, United, ATO, US Export Showcase and mom's favorite...Fancy Food.

All five have a different type of area to show. For example, United is basically produce, while ATO is "All Things Organic"
Each show is different and have fun items that they display.

The two pictures are of me and some of my friends that I met at the show. Can you guess who they are?

Day 2 - CHICAGO

Cubs beat D.C. 4-3 in 10th!











Today started with breakfast and then a quick tour of the produce convention (more on that tomorrow). Following the convention, we went to Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs came from behind to tie the game 3-3 in the 9th inning. In the bottom of the 10th, the cubs won the game with a single to left! In short, "Go Cubs Go!"

IN CHICAGO

Well, we made it! Chicago is awesome...as always! I arrived yesterday and today attended a produce food safety workshop.

Chicago is a great place. This picture is the view from our room. Mom just arrived and we are on our way to dinner.
